My tallest sunflower plant—close to eight feet, with multiple heads. I planted the seeds 10 weeks ago, so this baby averaged about a foot a week (though in reality, growth is relatively slow the first month). Sunflowers do indeed love the sun, but the heat and drought have taken their toll and stunted the growth of a lot of them this summer. Hey, look at that blue Chicago sky!
